Christmas Message from the Text of ACIM

This Christmas give the Holy Spirit everything that would hurt you. Let yourself be healed completely that you may join with Him in healing, and let us celebrate our release by releasing everyone with us. Leave nothing behind, for release is total, and when you have accepted it with me you will give it with me. All pain and sacrifice and littleness will disappear in our relationship, which is as innocent as our relationship with our Father, and as powerful. Pain will be brought to us and disappear in our presence, and without pain there can be no sacrifice. And without sacrifice there love must be. (From 'Christmas as the end of sacrifice' Text ACIM).

The heart of Christmas is seeing that giving the truth of who we are is the extension of love. To return to who we are we need to release all that we are not. We are not sinful or guilty, we are not imperfect or harmful, we are not weak and vulnerable, we are not bodies or separate entities, we are as God created us right now. Sacrifice is the thought that we need to do something or give something, give something of value, pay for or buy something in order to regain our innocence or worthiness. The world revolves around 'doing' in order to achieve a sense of value and in so doing misses the point that we already are the beloved and perfect creations of God. How do we see this? We give up all sacrificing, giving to get love. We become still and hear the message that is beating gently out from everywhere - 'I love you, just as you are'. This is the message of Christ at Christmas, when we hear it, truly hear it, a Holy Instant occurs and the Christ is born again in our hearts.
